Is Unemployment Worse in this Recession?

Yesterday we looked at how unemployment is felt disproportionately by those with less education.  Today I just wanted to update with the scariest chart in world history.  Seriously, it looks like it was drawn by Satan himself with the blood of innocents.

See that purple line?  It's saying OH MY GOD!  WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!

The good news is that things seem to have cooled off with unemployment slowing.  Not reversing, but slowing down at least.  Of course roller coasters slow down when they're about to plunge to the earth, but apparently economists see this as a sign that their prediction of "the bottom" appears to be here.

And all the children of the land rejoiced. 

But seriously, that purple line is speaking Latin backwards or something.  It's just EVIL!  I don't even see purple any more, it's just this image:
